Thanksgiving Day

For Thanksgiving Cy and I took the long journey up to Logan (well not really to long its only about an hour and a half drive and I am grateful that we live so close to both or our families). It was a lot of fun. Ayden had a good nap on the way up so he was very happy when we arrived. We got to hang out with all of his aunts and soon to be new uncle Todd, grandma and grandpa (who avoided the the still camera but I did get some video of them), great Uncle Paul, and we also got some rare Great Grandpa time with Ayden. Ayden loves seeing his family and enjoys being the center of attention at all times. We had the traditional Turkey day dinner with Turkey, stuffing, mash potato's (that cy made), beans, sweet potatos, rolls, and grandpas jello. Cy slaved over some Marie Calanders pies for desert and of course we had to have ice cream (my favorite). It was a fun day and now everyone is tuckered out. Off to bed we all go.

Dehle's Turkey Day Dinner

Zandehle is my very food crazed Rhodesian Ridgeback, she is 10 1/2 years old and since I have had her she has not ever had a Thanksgiving dinner... so I thought she should get a yummy dinner for what a good dog she is. So here she is before and after. She enjoyed her dinner.

Thanksgiving

Ok so I read Keri's blog and of course she has good ideas on her blog so I thought what the heck I would copy her :) (Thanks Keri). I think that we take so much for granted and I am grateful for Thanksgiving week to really help us remember that we have so much. I am so grateful for my family, they are the greatest. My mom is always there for me, always has the right answers for every question and always has everything that you need (this is an amazing trait), also just as Keri said, my mom can tell me to buck up and get over it and not make me feel bad, it just makes me want to do what she says and move on with life. I wish one day I can be as great as she is. My dad is the coolest, he is the most considerate person ever and he loves me unconditionally no matter what. I am thankful for my brother and sister because whenever I need something they are there for me. Its great to have family (even if they live very very far away). Of course now I am so grateful for my very cute baby boy. Even though he keeps me up every night and I only get like 4 hours of sleep, he is the cutest little thing and has already taught me so much. Patience, love, and most of all he makes me so grateful for what my mom and dad did for me growing up.

I am so grateful for my husband and how hard he works for me to help us have the things we have. I am very grateful for him when he wakes up at 5am with Ayden and lets me sleep till 8 (this is the greatest reward ever) :) He is such a good dad and always so patient and understanding of me (especially with my bad horse habits).

I am also grateful for all my friends. I have a great group of friends that are so supportive of me and are such wonderful examples.

The other 'little things' I am grateful for are all my horses, my fuzzy cat Coon, my crazed food driven dog Dehle, my tiny little Gerbil- "Gerbie" he always puts a smile on my face and can devour a toilet paper roll in a minute. I am grateful for the church and what it has taught me, a warm shower, my house, my truck, and my job. I think that there is much more but you probably would not want to read it. Happy Thanksgiving!

Crawling away

So this week Ayden had a few big milestones. He has been creeping along trying to crawl but only using his with his hands for a few days now. However this week dad was mopping the floor and turned on the Bissell steam cleaner to mop with and Ayden sitting in the living room to watch. Well he was not having that. He high tailed it crawling from the living room to dad who was in the kitchen (and also had the steam cleaner he was afraid). Then dad picked him up and Ayden clung to his shoulder while he finished. So that is how he learned to really crawl.
This is a video we shot today right after church. He is not the happiest in the shot and it is a little shaky when I had to back up to actually get the shot but its still cute.

Also after dealing with croop (spelling?) and a bad cough for the past month, we finally made in to get his six month shots (at seven months). He is 27 inches- which is in the 50th percentile and he weighs a whopping 14lbs 14 oz (which is in the 12th percentile). So he is a little bird. He still fits into his 3-6 month clothes around the waist but they are all to short for him because he is sol long. Its cute. So here is the must have before and afters shots at the doctors. I even tried to talk Cy into taking him instead of me because he took the day off but no dice on that one. I hear that is a usual dad trick ;)

1st real snow

Ok so today we got a real surprise when we woke up... Lots of snow. It was the first really cold day that Ayden and I had to head to the barn, so thank goodness grandma set us up with this super warm snow suit, and Mikaela made this his very cute little beanie for him. Ayden stayed so warm it was great. He was even sweating a bit :) The kids a heater. These pictures were taken up at the barn where I take my lessons. Tracy is always so kind to come with me and watch Ayden. So she gets to be on the first snow blog with Ayden. Yeah!!!

Halloween

1st Halloween.....
Halloween has always been so much fun for me. Cy however is not a Halloween fan. But we both had the Halloween spirit with our cute little 'Alligator'. This is the costume that Aydens cousin Christian wore when he was this age and Lis sent it to us so we could use it this year. After work Cy and I went over to my mom and dads and played in the leaves a little and had some photo opps with Ayden. He was worn out from being at Rena's the babysitters all day (since mom and dad had to work). But he still stuck it out for a little bit of fun. Grandma and Grandpa were happy we came over and Ayden
was happy to play outside at their house in the perfect Halloween 70 degree weather.

Fall spirit

So I have not blogged for awhile so here are some of the most recent pictures of Ayden. He is doing great. He hit the 6 month mark last week and is going to be unstoppable real soon. He has started rocking on his hands and knees and its only a matter of a little time now and he will be crawling.

Here he doing one of his little baby push ups, its hard to capture on camera.. its a little blurry because I had to snap fast, but it is so cute. he actually gets all the way up on his hands and toes.

Happy Halloween! Here is dad and baby. Baby is sporting his new trick or treat one-sie and some polar fleece pants. We have to stay in the Halloween spirit. We are looking forward to dressing him up next Friday for Halloween day!
